Zoom Airlines releases schedule for summer 2009
Posted on: August 1st, 2008 by Emily WelchUK based budget carrier Zoom Airlines has recently unveiled the details of its timetable for summer 2009, for flights originating from a number of UK airports.
As of next summer the transatlantic low-cost airline will add new routes that will operate from three of its bases in the UK, and will also increase the frequency of other popular services throughout its network.
Two new weekly flights will be introduced as part of the new schedule: Manchester to Toronto and Manchester to Vancouver service will commence mid 2009. In addition, a new non-stop flight from Glasgow to Vancouver will be offered on Thursdays.
The frequency of some of the routes departing from London’s Gatwick Airport will see increased, including an additional Saturday flight from London to Fort Lauderdale and a third weekly flight to San Diego. New service from Gatwick to Ottawa, Canada, will also be added.
Zoom’s chairman, Hugh Boyle, commented on the new summer timetable without making mention of the economic problems which had led to many other carriers reducing capacity and cutting jobs.
“We’re delighted to be extending the range of flights available for 2009 and continuing our low-fare transatlantic revolution,” he said.
Referring to a recently released report, he continued by saying: “The recent Which? consumer survey confirmed that customers preferred Zoom’s service to that of our main competitors and we will continue to work hard to bring fantastic service at fantastic prices to customers in every market that we serve.”
