Zambian Airways announces new route
Posted on: May 9th, 2008 by Dave BessFor the first time ever, the cities of Johannesburg in South Africa and Livingstone, Zambia will be connected by a direct flight offered by Zambian Airways. The route will not only get passengers from one place to the other, but will offer views of the immense Victoria Falls in the process. Flights will depart four times per week, leaving Johannesburg at 11:50 and arriving in Livingstone at 13:20. The plane will return to Johannesburg from Livingstone at 14:15, arriving at 15:45.
The flights will use a Boeing 737 jet, and the service will commence as of June 2nd. Commercial Director of Zambian Airways Charlie Roberts says, ” This is a fantastic start to what will become a very successful route for Zambian Airways - we have already been able to help lots of disappointed Nationwide passengers, who have snapped up our “Rescue” fares, plus our new service is proving incredibly popular both with locals and the ever expanding number of tourists choosing to see the Falls from the Zambian side.”

I have always been dubious about the state of African airlines ever since I was stranded at Johannesburg for 16 hours with little explanation from the airline (SA Sirlines which are normally ok)
