Young boy tries to board aircraft alone
Posted on: May 30th, 2008 by Paul FenrichYesterday marked the third time a young Seattle boy, 10-year old Semaj Booker, made an attempt to board an aircraft on his own with no ticket or boarding pass. The security tapes at Seatac International Airport show the boy passing through the security checkpoints just after five o’clock in the morning. His mother had called police declaring the boy missing at 3 a.m. The Transport Security Administration is looking into why the boy wasn’t asked to show a boarding pass.
Semaj was finally detained by security just after 06:30, and his line of being with a man in front him quickly was revealed to be untrue. He was returned to his mother and is back home. The boy pulled a similar stunt in January when he managed to get onboard a Southwest Airlines flight to Phoenix by saying that his mother was already ahead of him in the boarding area, and then boarded a second plane to San Antonio. The mother explained that the boy’s motives were probably related to the fact that he wasn’t happy in Seattle and wanted to live with his grandfather in Texas.
