Scientists do not concur, but various sources put the number of stars in the sky somewhere between 200 billion to three thousand million billion. Either way there are plenty to go around and Almond Resorts is offering the chance for clients to have one of those many stars renamed for them.

Couples arranging their wedding at an Almond Resort will have their names entered in the International Star Registry. Those who book their weddings with the resort receive a certificate with the location of the star named on their special day.

There are several Almond Resorts in the Caribbean, located mostly on Barbados and St Lucia. For weddings, the resort offers a package with the wedding in one location and the honeymoon at another of their resorts, for privacy and a change of scenery. Almond Beach Village, Almond Beach Club & Spa, Almond Morgan Bay, Almond Smugglers Cove and Almond Casuarina Beach Resort all offer a number of specialized wedding and honeymoon packages.

Couples who stay at the resort for a week or more are eligible to have the cost of the wedding arrangements free of charge. They also have special arrangements for those who wish to renew their vows.

Almond Resorts operates four-star all-inclusive hotels. The newest in the chain, the Almond Casuarina Beach Resort is scheduled to open this fall with 289 rooms.

bet it costs an arm and a leg for the privelege. Naming a star is pointless.

Spa hotels are very competitive nowadays, and I believe the best ones are in South east asia, where prices are cheaper.

Naming stars would add a romantic ‘extra’ to the stay. A nice touch.

I thought the stars had already been mapped and named? The great bear for example.
