The Golden Triangle in northern Thailand is an area long known for its opium fields, which supplied a large portion of the world’s heroin supply. The area has toned down its profile quite a bit in recent years, signaled by the huge rise in tourism, and its safety evinced by the presence of places like the Anantara Resort.

The luxurious retreat sat high upon a hill overlooking the Mekong River will be the place for two yoga retreats in May 2008 run by Mark O’Brien, a world-renowned yoga instructor. The program will take place in various locations around the resort, comprising of yoga and meditation sessions over the three or five day retreats.

The lucky participants of these retreats will be able to reap all the benefits form yoga and meditation, all the while enjoying the spa facilities and being fed delicious northern Thai cuisine during their stay. With its remote location and superb facilities behind the world-class instruction of Mr. O’Brien, anyone looking to get away from the art race will surely not be disappointed by these offerings.
