Worldchoice now represented on Leading Cruise Agents board

Worldchoice is the first consortium to have been offered a seat on the board of directors of the Leading Cruise Agents of the UK (LCA).

Helen Talbot, head of sales for Worldchoice, has taken up the position for a period of two years, with immediate effect.

This move follows on a recent deal that was struck between Worldchoice and the LCA, which gives the consortia access to commercial deals and exclusive offers.

Talbot attributed the appointment to a recognition of Worldchoice being an increasingly importance presence in the cruising market, which is 28% of its overall business, up from 24% last year.

“Our aim is to become a major contender in cruising by 2010. Ultimately, we would like to charter our own stock and committed cabins, an approach which the cruise lines are very enthusiastic about,” commented Talbot.

Other initiatives provided by Worldchoice include the establishment of a special fund for agents to use when they need to match a price in order to retain a customer or a sale.

A new consumer direct mail piece has been developed aimed at driving customers into retail outlets. This will be followed a campaign, in the near future, that’s focused on luxury cruises.
