The Transportation Security Administration in the United States has warned police nationwide to be on alert for what could be ‘dry runs’ for future terrorist attacks, after a series of suspicious incidents were reported at various airports around the country.

The TSA sent a memo to law enforcement agencies that reported incidents could be ‘pre attack security probes’ carried out by terrorist networks intent on attacking the United States.

The leaked document has cause concerns but the TSA has downplayed the significance saying the memo was one of many others meant to give police as much information as possible, but held no specific intelligence indicating an imminent attack.

Concerns have been raised after incidents like what happened in Baltimore, Maryland last September, where a block of cheese was taped to a cell phone charger, or more recently in San Diego, California, where duct-taped hunks of clay were put through the baggage x-ray.

Part of the leaked bulletin warned, “The unusual nature and increase in number of these improvised items raise concern, and TSA personnel should continue vigilance for groupings of ordinary items that look like IED (Improvised Explosive Device) components.”

A dry run terrorist attack? I would think you wouldn’t want to risk people having warning.
