With the Eurostar train still proving an effective means of transport across the English Channel, the rail line operator has entered a partnership with the tourism body of Great Britain to allow Eurostar to begin selling British tour packages and other travel items from VisitBritain.

VisitBritain’s online shop offers everything from multi-day transport passes, tickets to concerts, events and attractions, as well as practical items such as maps and travel guides. Now all these items will be available through the Eurostar website, after passengers have booked their transportation to Britain using the chunnel train.

VisitBritain’s director of commercial and marketing services Kenny Boyle says, “With increasing competition from destinations around the world, Britain must take every opportunity to remain ahead of the crowd. Our ambition is to help all parts of the industry improve their profitability and widen awareness of all that can be enjoyed on a business or leisure trip here.”

About time too, how long has the Eurostar being doing its own promotions without no decent partnership campaign to back it up? At least Visit Britain have all the most prestigious spots on their lists, such as Stonehenge.
