Virgin Atlantic recently announced that it would be expanding the free wireless internet services it offers in its Upper Class Clubhouses by the end of the year. The Clubhouses are available for use by guests flying in the Upper Class cabin.

Currently the Wi-Fi service is available in Upper Class Clubhouses in Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Virgin also offers wireless internet access in airports in Hong Kong, Washington and New York.

The wireless expansion program is scheduled to hit Tokyo, Boston, San Fransisco, Newark and Johannesburg over the next few months and be completely installed by the end of the 2007.

In order to access the Virgin Atlantic wireless network, guests flying with the airline can ask for an access code from the reception desk at the Clubhouse.

Virgin Atlantic’s chief executive, Steve Ridgway commented, “The introduction of free Wi-Fi access in our Clubhouses will mean that Upper Class passengers will no longer have the frustration of trying to make it through the internet connection jungle.”
