Virgin’s new drive-thru check-in
Posted on: October 21st, 2007 by Jennifer JonesPassengers waiting in line to check in with Virgin will no longer have to look enviously at those business class passengers checking in with speed and ease in the line next to them. This is not because they will be checking in speedily themselves but because Virgin is now offering the wealthy the chance to use a drive through check-in counter.
Beginning on November 2nd, Virgin’s “Upper-Class” customers at Heathrow will be able to ride from their limo to the departure lounge in under ten minutes.
As Heathrow grows more congested for the average traveler, with wait times at security check points growing and passengers getting more and more anxious just stepping into the airport, airlines are beginning to worry that they might lose their most valued customers: those who will pay £2,000 a seat.
Those of us who aren’t ready to fork out the big bucks will, unfortunately, have to continue waiting in line.
