Pending approval from governments on both ends, the American carrier United Airlines plans to launch a new daily service between the American capital of Washington, DC to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Airlines are scrambling for a piece of the Dubai pie, as the Middle Eastern city becomes bigger and bigger every day, in the tourism industry, the real estate industry, etc.

United’s managing director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East Marcel Fuchs says,
“This new route further strengthens our presence in the Middle East and allows us to take advantage of the growing commerce between the region and the United States. Additionally, this flight adds to our international route network, creating new revenue opportunities and provides customers with a daily service they can rely on.”

United’s hub at Washington-Dulles International Airport has been busy adding routes to new destinations in the Middle East this past year, and the airline now flies form Washington to 24 international destinations.
