Two BAA execs tender resignations
Posted on: August 25th, 2007 by Emily WelchTalk to anyone about anything to do with London’s Heathrow International Airport and you can expect one or a combination of furrowed brows, guttural growls or perhaps tourette-style cursing. The endless security checks that have recently been questioned as superfluous, the renovations that assure your journey though the terminal will be equated to a walk through a building site are all things to get the blood boiling.
But where to project this anger? Well, it seems two executives of BAA, the organization who runs Heathrow, that have been catching the bullets, stones and tomatoes on everything that’s gone wrong have resigned form their posts.
Both the Director of Corporate Affairs and the head of media relations have turned in their wings over sustained criticism over the treatment of passengers and the logistics of running the airport itself, though no reasons for their departure were formally stated in any media.
Former Director of Corporate Affairs Duncan Bonfield and former head of media relations, Mark Mann’s departures follow the resignation of Tony Douglas stepping down as chief executive of Heathrow after nine years of service.
