Two Asian airlines plan codeshares
Posted on: April 8th, 2008 by Dave BessJet Airways and ANA All Nippon Airways are two of India’s and Japan’s principal carriers, and the two will begin a code share scheme along with reciprocal frequent flier programs as of May 21st. This will mark the first time that two countries’ airlines have partnered up to this extent, and one of the main rotes to be affected is the daily business flights between Tokyo’s Narita International Airport and Mumbai International Airport in India.
CEO of Jet Airways Wolfgang Prock-Schauer says, “We are proud to announce a partnership between ANA and Jet Airways. Both carriers share the same values of excellent service and have good complementary route networks we can offer to our passengers. Customers will enjoy several benefits such as frequent flier miles and seamless travel using ANA and Jet Airways’ networks”.
Mineo Yamamoto, CEO of ANA says, “We are delighted to work with Jet Airways in this way to bring together the peoples of India and Japan. Our two countries – located at opposite ends of Asia – represent the diversity and dynamism of our region, and Jet Airways, with its famed high quality of service and remarkable growth, itself typifies those qualities.”
