The review website Cheqqer.com that is operated by TUI Travel has began an international roll out, revealing a Spanish version of the site. The company had initially said that the next launch after the original in the Netherlands was to come in late April, so this roll out is a few months behind schedule. However, this Spanish version is suppose to kickstart a bigger European launch of the website before its 1-year anniversary this October.

Sandra Leonhard, the head of Cheqqer.com, says that online travel and social media has achieved a substantial scale in Spain. Therefore, she continued, the logical next place to launch a new version would be here. The next to launch on the schedule will be a version for one of the larger online travel markets, she added.

Cheqqer will be integrating reviews from staffers within the TUI group to coincide with the launch of the Spanish version. These reviews will come from destination representatives, airline crew and travel agency staff. Their idea is to get expert information from about 50,000 potential reviewers and to boost the some 900,000 reviews from customers.

Leonhard also said that there won’t be a major incentive program to persuade these expert reviewers to get involved. They are moderating the tips to make sure they are relevant and useful to their users, she continued, and also to avoid marketing messages. To gather these tips, they have developed a questionnaire tool, she added.

Agents throughout the travel sector are seen as dependable and people that can provide content to review sites. This is why Travelport Opinions is also rolling out across Europe, encouraging agents to contribute reviews to websites and other social media as well.
