Travelodge goes vice free
Posted on: July 26th, 2007 by Neill ZerkBusiness men staying at the Travelodge will no longer be able to watch pay-per-view pornography. Instead, the hotel is trying to appeal to a more family centered clientele and has banned the channels from it’s properties.
Instead of pay-per-view, Travelodge is investing £10 million in flat screen digital televisions offering guests a total of 18 family friendly chancels for free.
Guy Parsons, the chief operating officer at Travelodge confirmed that the move to ban pornography was appropriate considering the increasing numbers of families staying in the hotel rooms.
He explained: “Our other customers tell us that they would prefer to use a hotel without adult content available so we have responded to meet their needs.”
In addition, all rooms in the hotels have become smoke free, which the hotel feels will entice more customers into it’s accommodations in the long run.
