Apple is paving the way into a very exiting future with their new mobile devices, the iPod touch and the iPhone. The hottest Chrstmas presents of 2007 are sure to become more and more commonplace as time passes, and with the advent of third party software able to be used on them, iPhone and ipod touch could very well set the standard for handheld mobile devices.

One of the first non-apple companies to get in on the ground floor is the popular travel web-brand, Travelocity. The company is launching an application specially designed for iphone and iPod touch, which will enable the user to create and monitor travel itineraries on their apple mobile device. Real-time flight status, gps mapping, traffic and weather reports and driving directions wil all be possible.

For those lucky enough to have an iPod touch or an iPhone already, the application is ready to download at iphone.travelocity.com, or www.apple.com/webapps.

Chief marketing officer for Travelocity Jeffrey Glueck says, “Breakthrough Apple devices like the iPhone and iPod touch have raised consumers’ expectations for quickly finding the information they need over the Internet while on-the-go. As we continue to focus on great travel experiences for our customers, we’re proud to offer such an innovative and informative mobile travel solution for iPhone and iPod touch users.”
