Tour operator K & S enters into administration
Posted on: September 14th, 2008 by Bobby V-JonesShortly after tour operator XL announced that it would no longer be able to continue with its operations another tour operator has gone into administration. This time the victim is K & S Travel which is also known as Travel Turkey. The collapse of K & S Travel, which is located in Norhtern London, has left 150 passengers stranded abroad and another 400 yet to travel who will have their vacations cancelled or maybe refunded.
Customers left stranded by the collapse of K & S will have their money refunded for their alternate flights home as long as they were covered by the Air Travel Organizers Licensing Protection plan. The Civil Aviation Authority said it will help stranded passengers find new flights home.
The company said that “The CAA is organizing flights for the customers protected under its ATOL protection scheme, and is offering capacity to enable those passengers who had bought only a flight with XL Airways and so are not ATOL-protected to fly back to the UK at a reasonable price. The CAA has organized flights to the UK from Orlando and Sanford (Florida), Las Palmas and Tenerife (Canaries), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Mahon (Minorca), Palma (Majorca), Alicante and Malaga (Spain), Faro (Portugal), Kavala, Lefkas, Mykonos, Rhodes, Skiathos and Zante (Greece) and Bodrum and Dalaman (Turkey).” It was also noted that “The aircraft have been provided by BA, bmi British Midland, Monarch Airlines, First Choice Airways, Jet2.com, Astraeus and Virgin Atlantic.”
