Thomas Cook website offers live chat assistance
Posted on: May 20th, 2008 by Doug SmithThe main website for Thomas Cook has a new feature. Travellers looking to book hotels through the popular travel website can now take advantage of a live online help facility.
Travellers with questions about products or services can now connect with a liver representative of the company using the new tool, which was created by Pro More.
Thomas Cook, which recently acquired Hotels4u.com, is rolling out the live chat technology across the entire website, including the hotels site. The process began in March and is almost complete.
Pro More employees, which are based in Bangalore, India, are available to help travellers with a number of issues. Not only can they help people navigate around the website and find what they are looking for, they can also handle inquiries into bookings, questions about payments and clear up confusion about the terms and conditions of a deal. Representatives even have information about popular destinations offered on the website.
Head of LiveAssist for Pro More, Ali Subhan said that currently about one in ever 1,000 visitors to the Thomas Cook site take advantage of the new technology. “When required, we are able to give the user a better understanding and assistance to help them through the site and booking process,” Subhan said.
The technology enables users to keep their browser window open to the Thomas Cook page while chatting with the assistant in a separate browser window.
