Thomas Cook Airlines begins base at Leeds Bradford
Posted on: May 20th, 2008 by Jennifer JonesThomas Cook Airlines announced this week that it would add a new base at Leeds Bradford Airport. The Manchester-based chartered airline will station a new aircraft at the airport in order to increase the number of flights offered.
An Airbus A320 will fly from the regional airport, offering flights to 17 destinations. The airplane will increase Thomas Cook Airline’s capacity over the summer schedule by as much as 20 per cent.
During the summer, Thomas Cook Airlines will offer flights to various popular holiday destinations. Flights will leave Leeds Bradford for the Canary Islands, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Turkey and Greece.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook Airlines, Frank Pullman, said: “We took the decision to base an aircraft at Leeds Bradford Airport this summer due to popularity of and the demand for the flights that we offer”.
The new base is an exciting opportunity for the residents of Leeds and Bradford. Pullman said: “Everyone at the airline has worked incredibly hard in preparation for the summer season, so we are looking forward to serving the holidaymakers of Yorkshire”.
Even before the addition of the new aircraft at Leeds Bradford, the airline was able to offer passengers a choice between 70 destinations, both domestic and international.
