Technology helping travelers pack less
Posted on: June 20th, 2008 by Paul FenrichWith technology always increasing its power while shrinking its size, many travelers are loving the new products as it help business travelers take less while still getting what they need. New products like the Treo Smartphone can be used by business travels as a portable office with its ability to send and receive emails as well as take calls from anywhere you find yourself. It can also open and view documents and spreadsheets that can be put onto the small portable device that can later be attached to a workstation to copy and information onto. This tiny device covers the basic needs for most traveling business people to keep in touch with their office no matter where they are and replaces the need to keep a cell phone and lap top with them where ever they go.
Someone who finds themselves on the road a lot with travel, Charles Emnett can appreciate the flexibility with the technology. “Giving up the laptop was a liberating experience. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to do it, but I really don’t think that I would go back,” commented Emnett.
Other products showing off techonology advances are hitting the market allowing more and more people to travel with lighter loads. Some of the newer products being released include smartphones, blackberries, ultra thin laptops and GPS devices. All of these allow a traveler to have an office where ever they are without having to carry around bulky gear when business requires them to travel.
