Spend less time waiting in line at security checkpoints in the airport
Posted on: June 24th, 2008 by Dave BessWith the increased security measures that are present today in our airports, travelers are likely to be frustrated waiting in a line before boarding their plane. As each passenger must pass their belongings through an x-ray machine and successfully pass through a metal detector there are bound to be delays. People new to flying may not realize that they need to remove their shoes and place them in a bin to be x-rayed by security personnel. With laptops gaining increased popularity with travelers it is likely that they all might not know their laptop needs to be removed from its case before being passed through the x-ray scanner.
If you are a frequent flyer than the odds are that you have seen the above scenarios and more than once it has likely lengthened the amount of time you stood waiting to pass through the security check point.
Relief is in sight. The new Black Diamond program brought to you by the Transportation Security Administration is looking to ease security check point waiting times by dividing lines into experience levels. Newbie flyers can wait in a special line which will offer assistance getting through the line with no pressure. Likewise, families with children will be able to wait in this line so as not to hold up the frequent flyer that knows exactly what needs to be done to get through the security check point as quickly as possible.
