Royal Caribbean International has announced that it will cancel a series of South American cruises that had been scheduled for the winter 2009-2010 season.

Their ship, the Radiance of the Seas, originally set to operate the cruises is being redeployed to run on the expanded Mexican Riviera itineraries operating out of San Diego.

Passengers who have bookings on the South American cruises for sailings scheduled from November 21, 2009 to March 7, 2010 will have the option of rebooking for the same cruise itinerary this winter, at the prevailing rates.

Dates available for rebooking are from November 23, 2008 to February 1, 2009 and also from February 28, 2009 to April 26, 2009, subject to availability.

Passengers who rebook during these dates will receive onboard credits of $200 for a standard cabin and $400 for a suite.

Radiance of the Seas will be extending its cruising season from San Diego, with 24 Mexican Riviera sailings on offer, of itineraries ranging from 4-12 nights, and two West Coast cruises, of nine and 10 nights’ duration. The increase in sailings between September 2009 and May 2010 will include ten new 9-11 night cruises to the Mexican Riviera.
