Solo travellers catch a break

A spokesperson for the Adventure World tour operating company says they are beginning to offer small tours catering to the single traveller market. Solo travellers are often penalized by either having to pay supplements, or take a tour with a large group that compromises the flexibility desired while on holiday. Several new tours offered by the agency give travellers a choice of sharing rooms with other solo travellers, and some tours offer the comfort that if no other traveller is found to share accommodation with you, you are not charged any extra for it.

Singles Travel Connections in South Australia organizes tours aimed at single travellers, and their listings of available hotels all include single room options. These types of tours appeal mostly to people between the ages of 20 to 50, and offer more flexibility than a typical package tour. Singles Travel Connections offers trips to destinations like Africa, Turkey, Greece and cruises on European rivers.
