A new route between the capital of Slovakia and Birmingham International Airport was recently announced by SkyEurope. Beginning on October 30th, the airline will be flying three times a week between Bratislava and Birmingham.

SkyEurope flights will take off from Bratislava at noon on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays, landing at 13:30 in Birmingham. Flights from the West Midlands leave on the same days at 14:00 and arriving in Slovakia at 17:20.

John Morris of Birmingham Airport said: “We are delighted that SkyEurope will commence a service to Bratislava in October. This three times a week service, to an up and coming destination, makes it an ideal choice as a city break or gives the option of a longer break in Bratislava and maybe a visit to Vienna, which is only an hour away.”

Bratislava is located on the banks of the Danube River and is an excellent gateway for onward travel to Vienna. The SkyEurope website also offers shuttle bus service from Bratislava to the Austrian capital.

One way tickets start at £29 including and are available online now. SkyEurope has a number of winter destinations on sale for this price. The airline is the largest low-cost carrier in Central Europe and operates out of five bases in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland.
