The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh, is all set to undergo a complete renovation. The renovation said to be worth millions of pounds will ensure a completely new set of suites and rooms. More room will also be added taking up the total count to 268. Based on the new plans drawn up, the hotel will include a new Club floor and also a Grand Suite for the hotel’s elite customers.

The reconstruction will be fully complete by June 2010. The construction is scheduled to start in January and the first phase will reportedly be completed by April 2010. Keeping in mind the hotel’s new modern state-of-the art look, each room will be remodeled on the same lines. Even standard rooms will reportedly possess large bathrooms with encapsulated glass, a separate bathtub, and a walk-in shower. The newly modeled rooms will also boast of a layout that includes mood lighting, high-tech media centers and a Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed which will follow the green policy and have all-natural linen and furnishings.

So that guests don’t face the inconveniences caused by the renovations, the hotel will be divided into two sections. One half will be completed first followed by the other half. The General Manager of the hotel, J P Kavanagh said that the hotel slowly has been making improvements and additions for the last couple of years. Their luxury spa, One Spa, was opened in 2001. However, the management felt that a complete update was essential to have a modern feel.

The rooms will also include free wireless internet and complimentary continental breakfast
