When a man decides to make the giant leap of faith and possible confidence shattering that is involved with something as drastic as asking a woman to marry him, the man will sometimes try to stack the deck in his favour by further sweetening up his sweetheart by choosing a specific location, time and ambiance to pop the question.

This week a Canadian man had made his plans, and had his scheme all worked out as far as how and where he would ask his high-school sweetheart to marry him and sail away in to the sunset- literally.

24-year old Aaron Tkachuk chose the setting of a Caribbean cruise to spring the diamond ring on his girlfriend Jennifer Rubadeau, but to his shock and surprise, he never even got past airport security.

As the couple passed through the security checkpoint at Prince George Airport in British Columbia, screeners remarked on a small black box in the toe of a sock and asked Tkachuk to remove it for inspection. The cat, as it were, was out of the bag, and the nervous fellow was forced to propose to his girlfriend right there in the security line.

Thankfully for Aaron, she said yes, to the delight of security guards and fellow passengers alike.

What if she had said “no”??? It would have been sooo unfair wouldn’t it? And highly amusing, not for him of course.

It would not have been amusing at all in fact….lucky she agreed. nice to hear of a fairy tale romance so to speak..
