Ryanair cries foul over re-sellers

Dublin based budget airline, Ryanair, is threatening to block travel websites that snap up its allocation of cheap seats and resell them for as much as double the original price.

Accusing sites such as Lastminute.com, Ebookers, Flights Direct and Global Holidays, of selling its budget seats at inflated prices, it cited the problem of resellers mis-advising passengers about the conditions associated with the cheap seats, creating misunderstanding between the airline and its passengers.

It gave an example of how Lastminute.com charged €45.18 (£30.70) for a flight from Dublin to London, when the Ryanair fare was €22.59 (£15.40), and Global Holidays charging £34.99 for a flight from London to Dublin that Ryanair was selling for £14.99

Ryanair said it has blacklisted certain credit card accounts and prevented transactions being routed through certain internet addresses.
