Royal Caribbean opens new offices in China
Posted on: December 16th, 2008 by Dave HumphriesRoyal Caribbean Cruises have announced the opening of two new offices to serve the growing China market.
Outlets located in Beijing and Guangzhou are meant to expand the cruise line’s reach into additional regions of the country.
The new offices will be strategically located in the cities’ central business districts, in close proximity to major tour and travel agents, making it possible for Royal Caribbean to reach greater numbers of potential customers and service a broader range of local travel agents.
In 2007, the cruise line established its first presence in China, opening an office in Shanghai.
Michael Bayley, Royal Caribbean’s senior vice-president international, said: “Having a second consecutive season in Asia, and eventually, a year-round deployment there, reflects our commitment to the China market and the importance of the entire region to our global growth.”
Both new offices will support three Royal Caribbean brands, including Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
In February of 2009, the cruise line’s new Legend of the Seas will sail from a new cruise terminal in Shanghai.
From January 2009, Azamara Cruises’ Azamara Quest will call at the Chinese ports of Canton and Shanghai, during its first season of Asia sailing.
