Portugal-bound flight returns to Manchester

50 holidaymakers climbed aboard First Choice flight FCA 2420 at 05:45 British Standard Time all ready to head out for Faro, Portugal, but shortly after take-off, the plane started to turn around and head back for it’s point of departure, Manchester.
When the plane touched down again on the runway it had left moments earlier, it was met by ambulances, emergency crews and members of the local fire department.
Thankfully, what the captain of the aircraft had described as a fault with the plane’s pressurization system gave enough warning for him to land the plane safely without anyone onboard being inured.
After the re-landing of FCA 2420, the plane was inspected by safety and maintenance crews and declared fit to fly a short time later.
“Pressurisation occurred as normal as the Boeing 757 climbed and there was no danger to passengers or crew at any time. However, safety is our number one priority, therefore engineers advised the captain to land as a precautionary measure. The aircraft underwent a thorough engineering inspection at Manchester airport and is now flying again,” said a spokesman for First Choice.
