P&O Cruises has announced details of their largest program ever for 2011-12, adding variety to underline their position as the favorite cruise line in the UK. The company has chosen to reveal its program over a month before the brochure is available for sale (July 15), which features the return of summer Mediterranean and winter Southampton cruises.

The program will feature 5 ships that will journey to 177 ports across 55 countries. There will be 95 separate holidays that cruisers can choose from. The program will also feature the only Alaskan cruise that will depart from the UK, while their newest ship, Adonia, is set to launch in the spring.

P&O Cruises managing director Carol Marlow says that a world cruise is the greatest holiday experience, and their new program has more opportunities for travelers to see the world than ever before. Their world cruises are continuously popular with people who take a long period off from work, she continued, and are also a great way to see the world without going through airports.

Marlow also detailed that there are 95 cruise options that range from 15-night to 109-night durations, so world cruises aren’t just for the rich and retired anymore. Their itineraries give everyone the chance to see the world, she continued. Agents will begin to get marketing and sales-support materials over the next few weeks to prepare for the launch of the program, she added.

This is an exciting program for P&O Cruises, Marlow said, as it’s the biggest yet. As the largest cruise operator in the UK, they need to offer this kind of variety and choice, she continued. The key is offering product for British cruisers, creating special and memorable occasions, she added.
