Plane search enters day four

A search conducted by the Brazilian military for a plane containing four businessmen from Great Britain that had gone missing continued for the fourth consecutive day today. The army was joined by police and civilian volunteers as time passes and hopes wane. The 310 Cessna aircraft was last seen on Friday evening, and the rescue operation spans and area of 400 square metres.

The search was launched immediately after the plane lost contact with air traffic controllers a mere few minutes before it was due to land in Ilheus, a town just inland from the Brazilian coast. The four businessmen, 41-year old Rick Avery, 46-year old Alan Kempson, 52-year old Neil Hodges and 43-year old Sean Woodhall had taken off from Salvador as part of a business trip to scout for new housing developments.

Elliot Hodges, the son of Neil says that the Brazilian army is keeping all the families up to date, and colleague of the four men Michael Lyn was quoted as saying simply, “Everybody is hoping that there will be a positive outcome.”
