The transatlantic business carrier OpenSkies will be launching its second route connecting Europe and New York this winter.

The subsidiary of British Airways has been operating flights from Paris’s Orly Airport to New York’s Kennedy Airport since June, and on 15 October, will commence daily service from Amsterdam to New York.

Tickets will go on sale early in August for seats on the new Amsterdam-New York service. The daily flight will depart Amsterdam Schiphol at 1:20 pm and arrive in New York at 3:35 pm. The flight returning to Amsterdam will leave New York at 8:05 pm, arriving Schiphol the following morning at 9:40 am.

BA’s subsidiary OpenSkies is the first carrier that was established to take advantage of the new EU-US Open Skies aviation agreement, which allows airlines to operate service between any EU and US destination. To date, the business carrier has been operating daily service between Paris and New York on a Boeing 757 that has been specially configured with just 82 seats.

Passengers of OpenSkies have three different seating options, including 24 flat-bed reclining seats, 28 recliners that have a 52 inch seat pitch and 30 seats that have a standard configuration.

The managing director of OpenSkies, Dale Moss, commented: “We’re expanding to Amsterdam because of its significance as a business and cultural capital in Continental Europe and the opportunity to bring premium service to travellers on another route across the Atlantic.”
