North American Airlines to add another link to Africa
Posted on: July 17th, 2007 by Dave BessBeginning on September 4th, 2007, North American Airlines will begin service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and the Nigerian capital city of Lagos. The flight will have one stop at John F. Kennedy Interantional Airport in New York City.
The chief marketing officer for North American Airlines, Robert Binns stated, “There is significant demand in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C., area for direct flights to Africa, and North American’s Boeing 767-300ER service will greatly reduce flying time between BWI and Lagos.”
He continued by saying, “Our departure and arrival times allow for convenient connections to a network of Africa destinations with our marketing partner, Virgin Nigeria. Customers also will appreciate our new Business Class service with all-leather seating and in-flight entertainment, including nine audio and six video channels to choose from.”
It seems the demand for service to Nigeria has finally been acknowledged, and the Maryland Aviation Administration has allowed the process of introducing the route without too much red tape.
Binns showed his appreciation by saying, “We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from the Maryland Aviation Administration and the State of Maryland. We look forward to providing this important link that many customers want between the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area and Lagos.”
