The historic New Yorker Hotel in midtown Manhattan is currently undergoing a $65 million renovation and to make the process more a help than a hindrance to business, the hotel as launched a blog to attract visitors to check out what’s happening with the renovations, and general manager Kevin Smith provides commentary on both the New Yorker and what’s going on in Manhattan’s hospitality industry.

Smith says, “As the Internet has become a driving information resource in today’s society it is imperative for us to find a way to use this technology to reach consumers and interact with them on a personal level. The creation of The New Yorker Scene Blog provides us with that certain connection in an easily accessible environment.”

The renovations at the New Yorker are extensive indeed, with the complete redoing of the heating and air-conditioning system, new fixtures, carpets and wallpaper and a complete overhaul of the lobby.
