New travel Dubai website launched
Posted on: May 22nd, 2008 by Neill ZerkLast week, the government of Dubai launched its own search engine, targeted at travelers from Ireland and the UK looking for discounts on flights, holiday packages and hotels in Dubai.
The government-backed website will use information from online travel agents like Ebookers and lastminute.com in order to determine the best prices for tours, hotels and airlines for an increasing number of tourists from the UK.
According to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), Dubai is just one of several luxury locations currently appealing to British travelers.
“Dubai is really four and five star upwards when it comes to its tourism offering – that is totally an example of where a lot of money and a lot of resources have been ploughed into the tourism products,” said Frances Tuke, an ABTA spokesman.
“Dubai, quite a while ago, was really just a desert state; [now] it’s one of the fastest growing cities in the world,” he explains.
Dubai is located just five hours from Europe by plane and has both brilliant beaches and impressive archaeological sites.
Dubaitravelmarket.co.uk is a kind of price comparison site which allows travelers to compare various options from hundreds of travel websites in order to locate the best deal available. The website is not a travel agent, but will direct travelers to the appropriate vendor in order to finalize their booking.
