New software puts 3D into travel marketing

3D movies have long been the fare of IMAX movies and Disney novelty, but now a tech company has produced software that can produce 3D imaging affordably. World Group Media held demonstrations at the ATM convention in Dubai, showing how 3D technology could be used in travel marketing. Managing Director Rupert Daniels explains, “Our clients are using 3D to create a ‘wow’ factor and to generate competitive advantages over their competitors. Our background is in professional sports where we have created 3D films for clients such as FIFA, Coca-Cola, Reebok and Adidas. We believe there is fantastic potential in the travel and tourism industry to use 3D films for product launches, exhibiting at trade fairs, 3D walkthroughs, entertainment shows, VIP hospitality and much much more.”

The World Group Media tent at ATM gave some examples of the possibilities of 3D marketing by showing footage of scenic locations in Europe including the city of London and the Swiss Alps, with the mountain peaks jumping right out of the screen.
