New insurance packages address new needs
Posted on: June 15th, 2008 by Paul FenrichGoing to an airport today is not the same experience it was five years ago. Security issues in a post-nine-11 world as well as decreasing capacity of airlines such as British Airways have added a lot of stress to today’s travel experience. Insurance companies have responded to these changing needs, however, with new insurance products.
One of the emerging needs travelers are facing today is insurance which protects against delays and cancellations due to security alerts or terrorism-related incidents. The Secure Delay Insurance package offered by Totally Insured Travel is a product designed to address that need.
The new package covers travelers for additional travel and accommodation costs in the event their flight is delayed for longer than six hours. In addition, they can claim for subsistence, alternative re-ticketing and get money back on excess parking charges. The price of the package starts at £5.
Andrew Norman, director of Totally Insured Travel, said: “We think the extra cover will be appreciated not just by business travellers who absolutely have to be at a meeting but also those on holiday who want to know they won’t be out of pocket if they need to make alternative arrangements.”
Norman expected the cover to be appealing to both business and leisure travelers.
