New hotel for Johannesburg
Posted on: January 24th, 2008 by Neill ZerkSouth Africa knows what kind of potential it’s sitting on with its hosting of the next FIFA World Cup football tournament. Even neighbouring countries are building up their accommodation sectors and infrastructure to cope with the influx of international visitors. A new hotel is set to open in Johannesburg, the second Sandton hotel called the Park Inn, to compliment the Radisson Sandton, all overseen by the Rezidor Hotel Group.
Rezidor Hotel Group’s president and CEO Kurt Ritter says, “South Africa is an upcoming destination for business and leisure travellers. The government has prioritised tourism as a key economic sector, and international arrivals increase continuously – we are expecting new heights in 2010 when the country hosts the FIFA World Cup.”
The 192-room hotel will be conveniently located next to an underground station that links directly to OR Tambo International Airport, making the hotel a good choice for travellers wanting easy access from the airport while still being centrally located. Many attractions such as Nelson Mandela Square and the Sandton City shopping centre are close by.
