New Holiday Inn for Cairo
Posted on: February 21st, 2008 by Emily WelchFollowing the official opening ceremony in January, IHG has opened the doors to the Holiday Inn Cairo Citystars on its 750,000 square metre, 311-room property in Egypt’s capital. The hotel aims to attract the growing number of middle scale travellers to Cairo.
InterContinental Hotels’ chief operating officer for the Middle East and Africa said, “Holiday Inn is one of the world’s most recognisable hotel brands with a global reputation for service, comfort and value and we are very proud to be expanding its presence in the thriving and strategically important destination of Cairo, Egypt. According to the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC), Egypt’s travel and tourism industry is expected to grow by 5.4% per year between 2008 and 2017. This represents not only continued growth but also increased opportunity for a dependable mid-scale brand such as Holiday Inn.”
The hotel aims to pull in the masses with its four restaurants offering different styles of world cuisine as well as high technology standards in the individual rooms. There are already almost 1,400 Holiday Inn hotels in the world, with its main developments focused in the Middle East and Africa.
