Posted on: October 19th, 2007 by Andrew MayerThrifty Car Rental, a company which is part of the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc, recently announced the opening of a new location at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina.
Thrifty previously operated from a location off-site but close to the airport but has not moved its operations onto the airport grounds.
“Raleigh-Durham International Airport has seen significant gains of about six percent in passenger traffic in the first half of this year, and Thrifty Car Rental wants to increase its presence in this growing market,” said Scott Anderson, Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Operations.
In fact, the airport is expecting to see five million arriving passengers this year which are expected to bring $12.6 billion into the local economy.
The new rental facility will be open daily from 04:30 until midnight. The facility expects about 30 per cent of its customers to be business rentals and 70 per cent to be leisure travelers.
Thrifty is planning to open other locations in the region in the near future. An Apex location will be opening soon while outlets in Cary and in downtown Raleigh won’t open until the end of the year or in early 2008.
The Thrifty Car Rental brand offers service to customers at over 1,028 locations in 68 countries across the world.
