Most expensive three star hotels
Posted on: April 25th, 2008 by Andrew BonesHotel.info has compiled a list of the most expensive cities in the world as far as the price of an overnight stay in a three-star hotel are concerned. Moscow takes the number one spot, with an average price of £125 per night in a mid-range property, while in the United Kingdom, surprisingly, the most expensive three star rooms aren’t found in London, but in England’s second largest city, Birmingham; where a night will cost £80.
Cheaper rates in the UK include Leeds at £70, Liverpool at £73, Leicester at £75 and Edinburgh at £76. As ever, many Scandinavian cities found themselves in the top ten, while other cities with a reputation for outlandish hotel prices like Tokyo, Japan were conspicuously absent.
After Moscow’s £125 per night, New York comes second at £122, followed by another American city, Chicago at £99. Copenhagen sits at number 4 with £94, followed by Oslo £91, Stockholm £89 and Helsinki £84. Zurich and Birmingham share the second to last spot at £80 and London and Paris share the tenth slot at £79.
