Mongolia sells itself to US tourists
Posted on: March 6th, 2008 by Dave BessFor the first time ever, the two main tourism bodies of Mongolia have held a US press event highlighting Mongolia’s desirability for tourists, from the adventurers looking to get a way from it all to those seeking luxury in exotic lands.
The Ministry of Roads, Transport and Tourism made a presentation together with the Mongolia National Tourism Organization to mark the opening of the MNTO’s first tourism office in the United States. The department was created with the help of American advertising, marketing and public relations firm, The Bradford Group.
Ambassador and permanent Mongolian representative to the United Nations Enkhtsestseg Ochir says, “Americans are travel trendsetters, and the allure of Mongolia’s vast landscapes and nomadic culture offers the opportunity to explore the unexplored,” said the Ambassador. “There aren’t many places where you can ride a horse, visit a nomadic family, then enjoy French cuisine and a massage at a brand-name hotel like Kempinski or Hilton all in the same day. Mongolia routinely exceeds visitors’ expectations!”

Could be an interesting destination to choose, I have absolutely no idea what the country could be like or similar to…China I suppose, good reason to try it for those bored of China.

Mongolia for a holiday? I think they need a further and more expensive tourism drive because many peopl still only associate the country with ancient things like temples….though it could become a less commercial destination than China…
