MoneySavingExpert recommends booking summer car hire now

The popular money website, MoneySavingExpert.com, provides consumer guidance on saving money and finding the best deals available. Owner Martin Lewis launched the site in November of 2003, and it has grown to a user base of nearly eight million per month.
In Martin’s Deals of the Week, Lewis is recommending that anyone who plans to book car hire over the summer do it now, through a search site such as www.CarRentals.co.uk.
“It is so cheap right now,” Lewis noted. For example, for anyone flying into Malaga and needing transfer to Marbella, the cost of a taxi is 50-60 pounds each way, or as much as 120 pounds return. It’s possible to rent a car for 10 pounds a day – or 70 for the week, and no only save on the cost of the transfer by taxi, but also have a car available for the whole week, at a lot less.
On the timing for summer holiday car hire bookings, Lewis advises: “You need to do it the right way. Go to one of the car hire comparison services. My two top picks would be Kayak and the cleverly-named CarRentals.co.uk. Use those, put in your details and they’ll search lots of car hire agencies to find the cheapest for you.”
He added: “If you want car hire this summer, do it now.”
