On Wednesday, officials at Midwest announced that as part of their strategic plan for 2007, Midwest is rolling out new non-stop flights from Kansas City International Airport to Austin, Texas.

The airline will fly between the two American cities twice a day starting on September 16, using Connect regional jets capable of seating 50 passengers.

In a press release from the airline, the vice president of planning and revenue management, Gregory Aretakis, said that Austin would attract both business and leisure travelers. “Austin, which bills itself as the live music capital of the world, is a first-class entertainment city and the home of the University of Texas and the state capital,” he said.

The airline is based in Milwaukee and operates a hub at the Kansas City International Airport. Starting on September 16, the airline will also be adding flights between Milwaukee and Charlotte, N.C. The airline is also adding flights to existing routes from it’s operational base to Las Vegas and Nashville.
