Midlands to Montego

Airtours will soon begin a new series of direct flights between East Midlands Airport and Montego Bay in Jamaica. The new route will be launched on July 18 and service will continue for two months over the summer.

The additional flights were welcomed by the Jamaica Tourist Board. Elizabeth Fox, the regional director on the Board for the UK and northern Europe said, “These flights are a direct response to increased demand from the consumer for direct departures from regional airports.”

Jamaica is becoming an increasingly popular vacation spot for British tourists Thomsonfly is also likely to launch flights between Birmingham International Airport and the laid back island next year. Virgin Atlantic recently increased the number of flights it offers to Jamaica as well. Virgin Atlantic is expected to add a route between Heathrow and Kingston.
