Mantrav International reassures customers of its stability
Posted on: September 20th, 2008 by Dave SmithMantrav International issued a statement today to reassure its customers that the company’s financial position is secure, in the wake of the failure of two of its UK competitors.
The travel operator, self-described as the top budget gay travel specialist in Europe, commented that many traditionally gay destinations and resorts are suffering, and in fact some of the gay-only resorts on Gran Canaria are facing closure.
Respect Holidays, one of the better-known gay travel brands in Britain, collapsed on Friday, following on the heels of the decision by Throb Holidays to stop trading after XL Airways failed.
Mantrav has bases of operation in the UK, the US, Australia and the Netherlands.
The company’s sales and marketing director, Andrew Jones, said: “I want to assure all customers that Mantrav International is safe. We have a solid financial backbone, an expert team running our company both in London and worldwide and we are of course fully bonded, so all bookings made with us are secure.”
Jones added that he was “deeply shocked” by the failures of Throb and Respect.
Respect Holidays also traded as Sensation Holidays and Wildwind Holidays, and was a small specialist travel operator offering all-inclusive packages to Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Mykonos, Sitges and Tenerife.
The CAA, through its Air Travel Organiser’s Licensing (ATOL) scheme, is arranging for travellers who are currently on holiday abroad, to return home on alternate flights.
