Emirates airlines has begun its direct service between Dubai and the Brazilian metropolis of Sao Paulo, and to mark the occasion they’ve enlisted a rather special spokesman, a Brazilian known as Fernando.

The flight time between the Middle Eastern Emirate and the Latin American country is 14 hours and 40 minutes, and Fernando is looking to earn a spot in the record books by talking non-stop for the same amount of time. The commercial follows Fernando around for 14 hours while he spouts off about all things Brazilian; from art, politics, sports, music, literature, dating, banknotes, food, architecture culture, Portuguese, coffee and a host of other topics.

Those interested in witnessing the project can see the trailer on Fernando’s youtube page, or can log in to his website at www.nonstopfernando.com and the footage will play from the point of login. Fernando talks through his day as he showers, eats, plays guitar, dances and lies in a hammock.

The Dubai-Sao Paulo route began on October 1st, and represents the latest addition to Emirates’ non-stop flights to six continents.
