Madame Tussauds opened a wax figure gallery which will include all 44 US presidents. Once completed this coming fall, the wax gallery will be the only display of its type in the world.

The exhibit will add to its collection presidents ranging from George Washington to a collection of 20th century presidents – Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy with wife Jackie, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, the two George Bushes, Bill Clinton, and the current Barack Obama. Meanwhile one US president, Abraham Lincoln, will have his figure seated in a theatre box, just like the night he was shot by John Wilkes Booth.

The first nine wax figures of US leaders added to the present collection at Madame Tussauds include John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, James Garfield, Chester Alan Arthur, Grover Cleveland and Gerald Ford. New wax figures will be consistently added until all 44 US leaders are installed at the gallery that will be opened this coming fall.

Once completed, the wax gallery of all US presidents is expected to become one of the must-see tourist spots in Washington, DC for school trips, families and history aficionados who like to have their pictures taken next to their favourite presidents.

Besides the presidents, Madame’s also has wax figures from famous Americans, including Martin Luther King, FBI chief John Edgar Hoover and General Robert Lee. Moreover, sports icons like boxing champion Muhammad Ali and baseball icon Babe Ruth also have their figures waxed.
