Etihad Airlines, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates has begun plans to expand its global flight schedule by 29%, with the main boost in traffic being between Abu Dhabi and London, England. Etihad already operates both afternoon and evening flights between the two capitals every day, but there will now be a morning flight as well.

Etihad Chief Executive Officer James Hogan says, ‘As Etihad Airways continues its expansion we’re continually looking at opportunities to make improvements to our timetable. By adding depth and frequency to our expanding route network we are able to offer a simpler, more convenient travel experience for the flying public.’

London is not the only route to get a boost, and Etihad will begin its winter schedule with some new destinations as well, such as Katmandu and other cities on the Indian subcontinent.

Within the Middle East the airline also plans to branch its services, doubling flights between Abu Dhabi and Doha and giving dalily flights to Damascus and Ammam.
