Justin Bieber is in Liverpool for his world tour and is due to perform tonight at the Echo Arena. That is…if his fans allow him to leave the hotel. Yesterday (March 10), his fans were so happy to see him that they gathered at the Hard Days Night Hotel, trapping the singer inside.

The Merseyside Police spokesperson told reports that they were called to the venue to ensure that the crowd didn’t get out of control. There were a large amount of fans outside the hotel, but they didn’t consider it a riot situation. Authorities closed off North John Street, where the hotel is located, and they were urging the public to avoid the area if they could. Officers were also working with hotel management and Bieber’s security team to make sure he, his fans and other guests stayed safe.

Ironically enough, this hotel was named after a film that recounted the mobs of fans that followed The Beatles. Along with a photo of his fans gathered outside the hotel, Bieber tweeted that the situation was crazy, with thousands of people out there. He loves everyone, but he was trying to get some sleep and asked them not to scream.

This definitely isn’t the first time that Bieber’s fans have been in a frenzy over the young pop star. In late 2009, he had to shutdown an appearance in Long Island; in February last year, he had to cancel a Paris in-store signing; last April he caused a stir in Australia and New Zealand; in September at a Hooters in Alberta fans went crazy and then again last Boxing Day at an Ontario mall.
